Nike has been known for delivering shoes that are innovative, durable, high-quality, and stylish. And because of this, they are the leaders in the athletic shoe industry.
But just because Nike shoes are as durable and as high-quality as they are, it doesn’t mean that we should take them for granted. They are expensive for a reason and that’s because they are made with the highest quality materials and must pass rigorous standards. It’s also the fact that Nike shoes are so expensive that we should better take care of them. We wouldn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars every now and then to buy new Nike sneakers just because we don’t know how to take care of our older ones.
If you want some tips on how to take better care of your Nike shoes, here are some you might want to consider:
Bring baby wipes
Always keep a pack of baby wipes handy because they are effective when it comes to keeping your leather Nike shoes clean. If you are wearing light-colored Nikes, baby wipes are especially more important. You can just easily wipe any mark or stain with baby wipes before they get absorbed. Baby wipes work just as well as soap and water on a cloth.
Use an eraser
If you have stains on the rubber midsole of your Nike shoes, an eraser is effective at removing any type of scuff or scratch. It’s as easy as if you were erasing a pencil mistake on a piece of paper. Just rub the eraser on the scruff, stain, or scratch and it will go away in a few minutes.
Use Nail polish remover
Nail polish remover is effective at removing tough nail polish that water can’t even remove. It’s essentially the same with your shoes especially if your Nike sneaker is made with patent leather. If you see a scratch or a stain on the leather, use nail polish remover as if you were trying to get rid of nail polish on your fingertips. You can even use it by putting it on a piece of cloth or tissue and wiping the stain or scratch off of your Nike sneakers.
Don’t throw away the cardboard inside the shoes
Nike shoe bought in stores would almost always have pieces of paper or cardboard inside. The purpose is to make sure the shoes keep their original form and shape even as they stay on the shelves and in the storage room for several weeks. If you want to keep your Nike shoes’ original shape, keep cardboard and paper inserts. You can just simply remove them when you wear the shoes and put them back in at the end of the day. This also helps make sure there are no unwanted creases on the leather of your Nike shoes.
